Topps’ Inaugural March Madness Basketball Card Series

Topps, a renowned trading card company, has teamed up with the NCAA to launch its maiden March Madness Basketball Card Series. Basketball enthusiasts and collectors alike can now get their hands on packs of eight cards, priced at $139.99 each, promising an autograph card from a selection of top players. Among the roster are standout athletes such as Purdue’s Zach Edey and Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, the men’s and women’s Players of the Year, respectively.

Each pack consists of the coveted autographed card, six base cards, and a parallel card numbered to 99 or less, making each pack a treasure trove for fans. These exclusive packs are currently up for grabs on Topps’ official website until Thursday, offering collectors the chance to unearth rare dual autograph cards, with one out of every ten packs containing this special surprise.

The collection features a star-studded lineup of 20 athletes, each carefully selected to represent the best of college basketball. The Bowman U NOW March Madness series showcases athletes like Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, and Caitlin Clark from Iowa, to name a few. Notable dual autographs include combinations such as Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, and Sheppard/Dillingham, adding an extra layer of excitement for collectors.

As the series unfolds, Topps has revealed that its inclusion of Caitlin Clark’s cards will run until April 1, aligning with her exclusive trading card deal with Panini America. This collaboration with the NCAA not only brings the iconic March Madness branding to card collections but also hints at more joint ventures in the future, promising even more thrilling releases for fans.

Throughout the season, Topps has been steadily rolling out over 120 Bowman U cards on its NOW platform, with a significant focus on college basketball talents. Caitlin Clark, in particular, has been a standout feature on 13 different cards, showcasing the company’s support for emerging stars in the college sports scene. The incorporation of college players in the traditional Topps Bowman University line for the past two years has further elevated the collector’s experience, cementing Topps’ dedication to celebrating the vibrancy of college athletics in its card releases.
