SCP’s Spring Premier Auction Showcases Rare Sports Memorabilia

SCP Auctions is set to amaze collectors with their Spring Premier catalog featuring a remarkable array of iconic sports memorabilia. One of the standout pieces is the exclusive George Mikan Minneapolis Lakers warmup suit, signed by the basketball icon himself. This one-of-a-kind ensemble, comprising a jacket and pants autographed by Mikan, is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from Sports Investors Authentication and is projected to command over $400,000.

As a pivotal figure in the history of basketball, George Mikan’s memorabilia, particularly his game-worn items, hold great appeal among enthusiasts. The auction also showcases a superb collection of vintage baseball cards, including a coveted PSA 7 Mickey Mantle 1951 Bowman rookie card, two 1952 Topps Mantles, a 1963 Topps Mantle in SGC 9 grade, and a rare 1933 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig card in SGC 9 condition, with the Gehrig card estimated to reach over $150,000.

For admirers of Pete Rose collectibles, there is the opportunity to acquire the second-ranked master set of his cards, following SCP’s previous sale of the top-ranked set last autumn. Additionally, the auction features a variety of notable Shohei Ohtani cards and memorabilia, such as the jersey worn by Ohtani on Jackie Robinson Day in 2023, projected to attract substantial six-figure bids, along with Ohtani’s 200th career home run ball.

Among the other remarkable lots on offer are two pairs of game-worn shoes from the legendary Michael Jordan, a cap worn by Roberto Clemente, a photo-matched jersey of Ronald Acuna Jr., and a signed jersey from Tua Tagovailoa’s 2023 season. The auction also presents exquisite high-end jewelry items, including a 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP award, Olympic gold medals belonging to Jim Hines and Oleksandr Abramenko, a 2003 Florida Marlins World Series ring, and a 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA championship ring.

Noteworthy additions to the auction lineup comprise game-worn and signed shoes from Kobe Bryant, a 1957 Mickey Mantle AL MVP trophy, a bat used by Ted Williams, a 2023 Bowman Chrome Draft Tom Brady Orange Refractor autograph, a 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card, a baseball signed by early Hall of Fame inductees and Yankee legends, and a selection of historic sports memorabilia dating back to the early 20th century.

Featuring a diverse range of over 400 lots, the auction commences on Wednesday and runs through Saturday, April 13, with bidding accessible on SCPAuctions.com. Sports enthusiasts and collectors alike are invited to explore and participate in this extraordinary event showcasing some of the most sought-after sports collectibles in the industry.
