The auction is being conducted by Goldin, with initial bids opening at 8:00 PM EST on January 5, 2026. The auction is set to conclude on February 15, 2026, with extended bidding starting at 10:00 PM EST on the final evening. As of January 6, 2026, the highest bid, inclusive of buyer’s premium, has reached around $1.6 million, with 40 days still remaining in the bidding period.
The Pikachu Illustrator card is celebrated for its rarity and historical importance in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, having been originally distributed to winners of a 1998 illustration contest in Japan. According to Guinness World Records, only 39 copies exist.
Logan Paul purchased this card in 2021 for $5,275,000, marking the highest private sale price for a Pokémon card. He has been seen wearing the card publicly, notably at WrestleMania 38, where it was displayed in a specially made case attached to a gold chain.
